WHAT WE DO
The Pat Melvin Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission to support other charitable organizations and nonprofits in fulfilling their purpose through fundraising and awareness events. Founded in 2019, in honor of Patrick (Pat) Allen Melvin, who passed away from Wilson Disease, we host a yearly BigWOW Walk to raise money for Wilson Disease Association and awareness for this rare genetic disorder.
WHO WE ARE
We are a group of individuals who are bound together through love for Patrick and his family. We have a common goal—share Pat's story in a big way and help others.
Our diverse Board of individuals is committed to hosting a yearly fundraiser for Wilson Disease Association and partnering with various organizations throughout the year. WDA is a nonprofit that delivered life-saving medicine to Patrick on Christmas Eve, when his insurance company stopped paying for it because of a 2000+% price-hike from Valeant Pharmaceuticals. Unfortunately, due to being without his medicine for six months prior, Patrick passed away from complications of Wilson Disease on September 29, 2015 at the age of 35. He left behind his daughter, Audrey, his parents and founding board members: Trish Marzolo, Danny Melvin, and his step-father, Gary Marzolo. He is also survived by his brother, and five nieces and nephews.

If you have a heart for more than one cause, we hope you will consider partnering with us. We not only help Wilson's patients, but we host events and fundraisers year-round to support many different causes. We maintain an extremely low overhead and run on a volunteer-basis only, to ensure that 100% of our profits go directly to those who need it.
